Understanding and seeing different cultures at work has made my heart sing since I was about 13 years old. I became a photographer with the hopes of being able to dive into different communities with diverse traditions and work with them to preserve some of the continually diminishing cultures. With the business skills I learned from my photography school in Santa Barbara I was able to open a small photography business, however, these business skills are limited, and I am constantly reaching out for more, looking to eventually own an international business, myself.
Seeing and discovering cultural differences is important to my understanding of what my own culture is. The United States is a mixing pot of different beliefs, traditions, and culture, making it difficult to recognize what differentiates my specific culture from that of different worlds. I believe this is why I am so fascinated by cultures that are so plainly spelled out as being different.
